Bring and train provider TX have decided to cancel the direct train between Oslo and Rotterdam as from 17 December. At the same time, Bring will focus on other train transport to Europe.
Bring and train provider TX have decided to cancel the direct train between Oslo and Rotterdam. At the same time, Bring aims
to improve its train service to Germany by increasing the capacity on the trains between Oslo and Herne, which lies in the
industrialised Ruhr area.
“We expect that these changes will better meet the market’s expectations in the period we are now entering”, explains Arne
Bjørndahl, Senior Vice President of Norway Post.
The last departure from Rotterdam to Oslo will be on Wednesday, 14 December, with the return from Oslo on 17 December.
Trains are important
Norway Post is focusing heavily on sending more mail, parcels and goods by rail. Trains are important for offering environmentally
friendly freight solutions and for achieving the Group’s goal of a 30 per cent cut in CO2 emissions by 2015. Norway Post and
Bring pay around NOK 500 million for railway transport each year.
“This does not affect Bring’s other railway services. Trains are key to Norway Post’s and Bring’s environmental strategy”, says Mr. Bjørndahl.
