Parcels

How to pack your parcels and pallets

It is the sender’s responsibility to pack the goods carefully and correctly. The parcels are reloaded several times during the transport, and both the outside and the inside of the packaging must be suitable for the content and shock resistant. Liquid and pulverized content must be packed so that it will be absorbed inside the package, in case there would be any damage to the outer package. Goods on pallets must be packed so that they will stay on the pallet during the whole transport. Also, do not place the parcels outside the edge of the pallet.

Correct packaging of your parcels and pallets reduces the risk of damage and delays. If your parcels are correctly packed, it will also save space which is cost effective. For more detailed information about measures and weight, please read the information sheets which are found by each product.

In the case of damage of your goods, one of the conditions for compensation is that you have packed the parcels correctly. If you want to receive full compensation, we therefore recommend you to take out our Cargo Insurance policy which provides additional insurance cover. If you do not have Cargo Insurance, your entitlement to compensation will be assessed in accordance with the provisions in NSAB 2000, which is limited to only 8,33 SDR per kilogram.
