Norway Post buys Nor-Cargo UK

(Oslo 22 October 2008) Posten Norge AS has bought Nor-Cargo UK from Det Stavangerske Dampskibsselskab (DSD) and Hurtigruten ASA, and takes over the company as from 22 October 2008.

Nor-Cargo UK’s services will in future be marketed under the Bring brand and will form part of specialist company Bring Logistics. Bring is the Norway Post company serving the corporate market in the Nordic region. Bring Logistics offers specialist solutions in the field of Nordic and international logistics, groupage, part-loads, specialist freight, warehousing and parcel delivery.

Nor-Cargo UK transports goods across borders, mainly between the UK and Nordic markets. These two companies currently cooperate with each other and Nor-Cargo UK among other things plays an important role in Bring Logistics’ North Sea activities. Including the company in the Bring family provides synergies and leads to better utilisation of the Bring companies in the Nordic region.

“Nor-Cargo UK will safeguard and further develop our operations in Europe and the Nordic region, as well as strengthening Bring’s strategic and operational positions,” says Erik Johannessen, the CEO of Bring Logistics AS.

The company is ideally located for quick and efficient transport to and from the Nordic region and the rest of Europe and has its head office in Stallingborough. The company has existed in England for more than 30 years and has a strong position in the market.

“Nor-Cargo UK is pleased and proud to become a part of the Bring family. With the new brand name and the Bring companies’ network, I’m sure we’ll improve our already good services to customers and continue to develop and find new roads to take,” says Bob Tutass, the CEO of Nor-Cargo UK.

The parties have agreed not to comment on the terms of the transaction.
