Delivery method
At the doorstep of the recipient. The evening for home delivery can be agreed directly between the sender and the recipient when ordering, and will be based on in-house lead times at the customer’s/sender’s premises and the Post Office’s transport times.
No-one at home
The parcel will be taken to a local Post Office/In-Store Post Counter if no-one is at home and a pick up notification will be put through the letterbox.
Pay at your doorstep
We offer payments by debit card as a additional service to At your doorstep. This means that your customer pays for the goods at the time of delivery. This solution is secure, simple, quick and convenient for all parties and ensures settlement for the sender. The sender pays a forwarding price and Cash on Delivery to the Post Office, and the recipient pays the Cash on Delivery amount.
Liability/Limitation of liability
The Post Office’s liability for the transport is regulated by the Act on Road Shipping Contracts. The Post Office’s compensation liability for domestic transport in accordance with the Act on Road Shipping Contracts is currently limited to 17 SDR per kg for the gross weight of the goods lost.

If you need higher insurance for your goods than that provided by the Act on Road Shipping Contracts, we can offer favourable insurance/transport insurance.

At Your Doorstep in connection with Internet shopping
At Your Doorstep is an ideal solution which paves the way for completely new options for companies working with mail order and Internet shopping. This solution means that customers will receive their orders delivered to their homes in the afternoon or evening.
This solution ensures fast, secure settlement. In a simple advance contract, the time and place of delivery are agreed with the customer (depending on the company’s own order and production times), then the Post Office guarantees a fast, secure send time.
This service requires use of EDI.
All prices are in NOK excluding value-added tax, and prices are determined according to the shipping calculation weight of the parcel.
Shipping calculation weight
The shipping calculation weight is the weight by volume of the parcel or the actual weight of the parcel, whichever is the higher, and this is the figure to use when looking up the price of the parcel in the table below.
Weight by volume
Volume calculation is the transport industry’s way of converting a volume to a weight. To find the weight by volume, multiply the length by the width by the height. If the dimensions are in cm, the results are divided by 1000 to get dm3 (the volume of the parcel). The volume is then divided again by a set conversion factor of 5 (for Post Office Unit Goods, a conversion factor of 3.5 is applicable). A factor of 5 means that 1 m3 is 200 kg. All weights are rounded up to the nearest whole kilo. To find the price of the parcel, we use the freight calculation weight, which is the weight by volume or the actual weight, whichever is the higher.
The actual weight of the parcel may not exceed 35 kilos.

Price supplement for special goods
Parcels more than 120 cm in length, more than 60 cm in width and/or more than 60 cm in height, parcels without external packaging and parcels in tube form are subject to a special goods supplement.
This product is only available in Norway.
