Liability
The Post Office will pay compensation for the value of the parcel up to NOK 50 000 in the event of damage or loss. Subsequent damage compensation up to NOK 50 000.
Drop off and delivery
We pick up the parcels from you in accordance with the contract. You can also drop off parcels at the Post Office’s sales outlets or with the rural postman. The parcels are delivered to the door of the recipient upon acknowledgement.
Forwarding
Delivery to recipient between 06.30 – 07.00 or 08.00 – 09.00 the next morning, Monday to Friday (optional for contract customers using EDI with the Post Office). To smaller locations: usually before 16.00. Saturdays: delivery before 10.00.

You can trace your parcel on posten.no using the consignment number.
Time guarantee
The shipping amount will be refunded in the event of delays, unless the delay is due to force majeure (strike, cancelled drops) or errors on the part of the sender.

Early delivery
All prices are in NOK excluding value-added tax, and prices are determined according to the shipping calculation weight and price zones. The parcels are charged according to 5 price zones.
Shipping calculation weight
The shipping calculation weight is the weight by volume of the parcel or the actual weight of the parcel, whichever is the higher, and this is the figure to use when looking up the price of the parcel in the table below.
Weight by volume
Volume calculation is the transport industry’s way of converting a volume to a weight. To find the weight by volume, multiply the length by the width by the height. If the dimensions are in cm, the results are divided by 1000 to get dm3 (the volume of the parcel). The volume is then divided again by a set conversion factor of 5 (for Post Office Unit Goods, a conversion factor of 3.5 is applicable). A factor of 5 means that 1 m3 is 200 kg. All weights are rounded up to the nearest whole kilo. To find the price of the parcel, we use the freight calculation weight, which is the weight by volume or the actual weight, whichever is the higher.

Delivery before 7.00
For delivery between 6.30 and 7.00, a supplement of NOK 220 ex. VAT will be charged per parcel.
Saturday delivery
For Saturday delivery, a supplement of NOK 115 ex. VAT will be charged per parcel.
Late pick up
In the case of late pick up, a supplement of NOK 175 ex. VAT will be charged per parcel.
Price supplement for incorrect addressing
For Business Parcels, a price supplement is charged per parcel if there is a high percentage of incorrectly addressed parcels.
