Insurance/transport insurance

The Post Office offers its contract customers the opportunity to take out insurance on the following products: Business Parcels Door-to-Door Business Parcels Post Office (not paid in cash) To the Door Service Parcels

Solution

This policy can be ordered via EDI* advance registration (for our EDI customers) and on the Post Office’s extranet My logistics. The insurance must be taken out for each individual item/parcel.

This makes it possible for customers to order insurance easily and securely.

Ordering

When ordering insurance, the following information must be completed for EDI advance registration or in My logistics:

Item number (applicable as the policy contract number) Sum insured / value of the goods (e.g. NOK 7000)

Item insured/contents insured (e.g. watch) e-mail/mailing address Indicator “J” (Yes) in a designated field, indicating that insurance is required (applicable to advance registration only)

Once the Post Office has received your order and the item/parcel, we will send you an insurance contract to your specified e-mail address.

If the order is not completed, or if it is completely incorrectly, the insurance will be invalid.

Cancellation and changes

We would like you to note that if you want to cancel or change a policy in future, this has to be done via the same channel in which the policy was taken out (EDI advance registration or My logistics).

Orders may be changed until the Post Office has taken the goods into its care (i.e. when the Post Office picks up the goods or the goods are dropped off by you).

Premium/price

The premium is 0.3 % of the sum insured/value of the goods, with a minimum premium of NOK 30. The excess is NOK 250 for each claim made. The maximum sum insured is NOK 25 000.

If you specify a value of the goods higher than NOK 25 000, you will only be invoiced 0.3 % of NOK 25 000.

For example: The value of the goods is NOK 12 000. Premium = 12 000 x 0.003 (0.3%) = NOK 36 (minimum premium NOK 30).

The premium will be charged to your invoice. If you receive an itemised invoice by e-mail, information will appear in a separate goods row for the relevant item.

Terms and conditions

The “Terms for Transport insurance of Goods” of the Central Union of Marine Underwriters, dated 1995 with later amendments, are applicable to this insurance.
